Chess, you old sea-dog,tis the treasure of Lamlash bay your seeking?Or are ye drawn back there year in year out following the currents for a totally different reason?A woman perhaps?A siren maybe :icon_eek:

Even as we shipped water last night Joe was gibbering about davey-jones locker, you ever been a fan of the Monkeees chess? :icon_eek:

Yeah the Monkees, i used to love them as a kid and the Double Deckers, some good old fashioned 70s nostalgia  . As for Lamlash Bay, used to be great fishing there 30 years ago, used to throw cod back to get to the haddock :icon_eek: Still like to visit a couple of times a year for various reasons :icon_eek:

Edward Smith probably said the same thing after he scraped his boat on a chunk of floating sea ice,Benjamin Briggs the Mary Celestes captain probably thought about hindsight in the moments prior to dissapearing from the face of the earth alongside his crew and wife, amazing how its normally old sea-dogs and nautical captains who use cliches which are painfully obvious even to those of us with less seafaring experience

I heard the expression used again recently, where and when was it :hmm: AH!Yeah, thats right,it was 2am this morning in deepest, darkest Hampshire as half-way across a lake, under the full glare of a farmhouse spotlight we heard a loud,ominous...................HISS :o:D Moments before JOE had been amusing me with his salty language and maritime phrases "Arrrrr,me hearties" "Hoist the mainsail" He even whistled a few bars of "We shall have a fishy" and other sea-shanties,but give him his due,he never lost his sense of humour as at the first sound of escaping air he did pipe up with "Abandon ship" :D

Ten minutes prior to launching the vessel JOE had been bent over in the shadows using lung-power on an inflatable, now dont get excited or carried away,it was his latest purchase Das boot, and just like its namesake it was destined to sink below the waves with nary a trace :bye:

Oh yeah,we even managed a few fish ;)

:boogy::laugh::laugh: is it real? is it true! whatever it is ,i piss myselfe reading your posts mackem.

keep at it :clapper:
