Netter 0
Somebody rang me today as they knew I was a ferreter, and asked me where they could find a Silver Mitt ferret? They were disgusted with me when I said I didn't know what one looked like, and more or less told me that I knew nothing about ferrets. So if somebody would be so kind as to show me what one looks like I would be much obliged. Thanks Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
mitts normally have a white bib, white feet or toes sometimes a dot on the insides of the back legs, ruby eyes & sometimes a white mark on the top off there heads, they come in silver sandy & poley colours with the added white bits basically Quote Link to post
Flying Ferrets 0
A silver with mitts and bib. You can find quite a few if you search in here I think. And you dont have to know every colour to be a great ferret owner. I for one know every colour used in denmark but we don't always have the same definitions as you have. what is poley? edit: nevermind, Julia just told me it's sable (poley=polecat?) Kay 3,709
As far as i am concerned this colour thing is very ''American'' and apart from albino & polecat anything inbetween is just coloured the list will go on forever chololate sable blaze sandy copper blah blah blah show stuff pure & simple do a simple google search & see the different specinines thats all come under one colour heading it shouldnt effect the working ability Quote Link to post
stubby 175
glad you said that kay thought it would interest a few, but now you say it, your right, Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
glad you said that kay thought it would interest a few, but now you say it, your right, Some of the serious showees in the uk already have shows catered for every colour on the planet , a lot simply refer to the marking anyway like blaze & mitt , we all know thats something labeled as sandy can be anything from dirty ginger to a softer light tan colour they all get lumped in the sandy catergory To be honest you would have to copy the info off an american site anyway , theres loads of sites with colour references on the net for the people who want to know Quote Link to post
