Squirrel_Basher 17,100
The thread on the BDS got me thinking .Last year ,i was part of a deer cull on our local estate .This was overseen by the' deer initiative '.They were surprised that none of us had heard of them and gave out booklets on their aims .They were well organised and brought along a team of tracker dogs for wounded deer which although not needed was ,i thought very responsible .They were 6 strong in all and all joined in the gralloch even though they had a long jorney home to Devon. There was a talk on safety by one of them and no hard sell ,which made a change .If this is the future for a deer management organisation then we will do worse than to support this group . The estate hired the portable chiller . Quote Link to post

Sighthound 49
I don't know much about the organisation but the head is a guy called Peter Watson, top bloke and unlike some in the BDS really does know his stuff. Quote Link to post

They have been on my Favourites page for a few years - if there is any change to deer laws etc , these people are generally the first to get it onto their web page - which is more than I can say for the BDS and BASC Those fallow look like they were in tip top condition. mole trapper 1,693
If you have any good permission and they start sniffing around your area holding their (consultations or meetings) watch out !, they are offering very generously to put high seats on any land and cull your nuisance deer. Feckers are up to no good in one of my areas, would not trust them any further than i could chuck them. Quote Link to post
