ilovetoshoot12345 0
just wondering if a live gold fish would be any good for pike. as roach seem to work well. just wondering if anyones tried it? Quote Link to post
mackem 26,261
It would work most certainly, but it takes probably 2 minutes to catch a bucket of indigenous live-bait on the water your fishing, enough for a session,so whats the reasoning behind goldfish? Quote Link to post

mackem 26,261
Gold, silver, blue even, isnt it down to the action of a distressed fish as well, whats the visibility like underwater?Besides, how much is a goldfish? You can get 50 Roach in 10 minutes for free, and as BRB rightly pointed out, your not introducing even te,porarily and alien species into a waterway Have you tried goldfish yourself as a livebait? leegreen 2,153
Using Gold fish is illegal unless caught from the water from which you intend to use them as is with any live fish. Dead gold fish are Ok, its all about the transfer of diseases. The reason why they work well because they have a wonderful flavor. Edited July 23, 2008 by leegreen Quote Link to post
