live baiting with goldfish

just wondering if a live gold fish would be any good for pike. as roach seem to work well.

It would work most certainly,but it takes probably 2 minutes to catch a bucket of indigenous live-bait on the water your fishing,enough for a session,so whats the reasoning behind goldfish?

goldfish are awesome bait , so ive been told dont know why it is but ive heard pike and zander go mad , just be careful as you shouldnt be taking non native fish to a new water .

becuase of its colours, wouldn't it attract more attention than roach?

Gold,silver,blue even,isnt it down to the action of a distressed fish as well,whats the visibility like underwater?Besides,how much is a goldfish?You can get 50 Roach in 10 minutes for free,and as BRB rightly pointed out,your not introducing even te,porarily and alien species into a waterway Have you tried goldfish yourself as a livebait?

Using Gold fish is illegal unless caught from the water from which you intend to use them as is with any live fish. Dead gold fish are Ok, its all about the transfer of diseases. The reason why they work well because they have a wonderful flavor.

My Trout taste the same as most still water Trout very earthy I hear salad cream masks the taste and did you know that trout pellets are over 90% efficient .

On that reasoning why dont rainbow trout taste of pastels and brownies taste of brown?
