dawnraider 2
i always handle before and after feeding, pick them up and take them to there meat and after mine always have 5 mins of play with each outher so i just stick my hand in amongst the lot like another ferret,i get lots of play biting like this but i think it teaches them to trust your hand more,i also make a point of giving each kit some 1 on 1,most of them will fall asleep in the palm of my hand, there six weeks old now and i hardly get a nip ,apart from playtime that is Quote Link to post
jmw 0
i got a new ferret the other day and its 8 weeks old and every timw lift it it nip's will it grow out of it or will just keep on gettin nippet when it nips flick it on the nose and tell it "no" firmly Quote Link to post
droid 11
Or better still, tell it 'No' firmly then shoot it in the head. That'll teach it! Quote Link to post

labsnlurchers 39
sometimes with kits if you move to 'grab' them too quick it can scare them and that makes them try to defend themselves but at 8 weeks old it shouldnt hurt. just dont grab them suddenly, close your fist and offer them your knuckle first, pick them up then if they get nippy while your holding them bend your index finger and put it near their nose if they bite it push it into their mouth (GENTLY) dont do it to hurt them just make it not nice for them to bite, this and regular handling will stop them nipping but do it before they get bigger because otherwise it will hurt when they bite!
