borderboy 80
Its time for me to get some new boots, for dog walking, mouching, ferreting, beating... I am looking for some advice as to what i should buy. I am looking for a decent quality boot, hard wearing, waterproof, comfy, all the usuals, and i'd like a taller boot, I have upto £200 to spend but would prefer to spend around £150... They'll also have to come in 13's...? Thanks Borderboy

maty j 6
I use the lowa combat GTX and they seem allright so far. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lowa-Combat-Boot-GTX...p3286.m14.l1318 I have been using them with some waterproof gaiters and they are doing better than my mouflon plus's I had previous. Still these are looking cracked and scuffed so I'm not expecting these to last a long time either. I got some cheap wellies the other week - beats paying 140+ every year or so for a new pair of boots even if they only last me 6 month I can get 14+ pairs for the same as 1 pair of boots. Just a shame they aren't as comfy and you can't dig in them.
maty j 6
the elk trackers Jed? I was going to get those over the Lowas but decided against it in the end. They seemed good value then coming in at around 60-70 quid posted form the US. http://cgi.ebay.com/Mens-Irish-Setter-882-...p3286.m20.l1116

borderboy 80
I have just ordered a pair of Danner Pronghorn GTX... £155, I will let you know how i get on with them...!
maty j 6
They look smart BB. Alot seem to really rate the danners. I'm looking for a cheap second pair of boots now preferably something medium height as the lowas make me sweat like mad after an hour but I still want to stay dry if I step In a stream or low river. Think I'll try some army surplus matterhorns or similar.
