i keep reading about feeding raw meat but i cant seem to get mine to eat it, i have 2 whippets i gave them a rabbitt last week and they wolfed it down, so i thought that i had broken the habit tried again a few days later and they werent interested just sniffed it and walked away, i know they were hungry as they just kept mooching around the house until i gave then something else should i just starve then until they eat it or shall i give up??

I feed mine on raw mate, chicken carcasses, lamb/beef offcuts, fat & bone. The terrier picked at it 2 start but is fine, the lurcher will eat anything but the pup picks at any food unless its flesh which he'll eat loads of. perservere mate, keeps them in good nick. I get my flesh as waste from butchers & it costs me nothing to feed my dogs

Hello mate i have tried to get my 11 month old patterdale bitch on to the raw diet but she just mucks about with it and throws it around the garden, the tinned stuff she dont want to know and i am glad because its rubbish so what i have done is boil up chicken quarters, liver sausages and vegatables i remove all the chicken bones put some gravy into the stock bag it all up into individual bags and this keeps her going for about two weeks i also give her biscuits does not cost more than about three quid and she cant get enough of it i will put a pic of her up soon she is looking good on it.

we have 18 to feed at the moment all are on BARF proper food ! total cost for the week is about £12 it does help when you do a bit of pest control for the slaughter house

main diet is Ox hearts - ox cheek-pigs heads/trotters - breast of lamb and loads of bones and a bit of tripe now and then with kitchen scraps veg etc thrown in

mine get a mix of tripe and beef with a high quality nut which is popular with the greyhound men .when fed this they thrive and there coats are slick and healthy to look at plus they leave less of a mess behind them. when fed with cheap dog meal which is suppose to be a complete food for a dogs every need it just went in one end out the other they lost condition rapidly and the kennells looked like a sewage plant .
