Tree-Marking

Recommended Posts

Went for a walk this morning just to blow a few cobwebs away....

View from my front garden

I used to hunt squirrels back in England with the terriers and lurchers.

The old girl hasn't lost her marking ability.

I struggled to see what she was marking at first. I thought it might have been a possum

But it was something bigger and far more dangerous

This fella had tried to make it to the water but treed as the dogs put pressure on him.

Fark me, he is a goodun. Stabs you will take to wearing a roo skin soon. lol What about the other pics?

Goanna is bloody greasy and they eat a lot of carrion so its probably not the healthiest.

They will also give just about any dog a working over.

Not really up on my monitors, they run around the garden, eat chicks, and scurry off quickly when you surprise them, thats all I really know :D

I presume you mean at your "other" home, I know we have a lot of exotics here but c'mon

Your lucky if you see em wild, as much as I'm sure they can be a pest. A lot of good reptiles and birds are unobtainable to hobbyists cos of the export laws of australia. Would be a pleasure to open the back door and see monitors rather than the bloomin sparrows eating my chicken feed haha spose if your used to things becomes normal and mundane anyway haha Lovely to see pics like that of wild animals.

Just asked my wife what type it was and you're both wrong....

Apparently it's "just a regular dirty egg-sucking goanna" :clapper:

Yes, it's a Lace Monitor
