chilli 381
have had a big dog bred out of samson ( 17 " ), good worker . some people said too big but he honestly never failed no matter where he was put . Am currently digging to dogs just as big that are grandchildren to samson .My point is no matter the size of the dogs , if the bloodline is right you will be able to dig to them . Quote Link to post
Bailey 16
Chilli alot of the places we have been digging this past few years even the smallest of dogs have a hard time getting up to the foxes, a 17" dog will never get into a cleared out rabbit hole, horses for courses. Quote Link to post
chris 1
my dog is also a little bit over 10 kg and it takes him sometimes a little bit long to get to fox...they squeeze in some narrow places. but, since i hunt in germany, in the badger sets he is perfect for me. i would imagine that if a dog is much heavier and passes the 12 or 13 kg than he would have some problems except of the biggest sets. but i also like the big ones no doubt:) best regards on this foto he is lying in greece...vacation and rest for the coming season:) Edited July 22, 2008 by chris Quote Link to post

downsouth 7,274
Ive always been an been a supporter of big strong dogs 14-15 ins 20-24 lbs .Over the last couple of years ive landed 3 big shooting estates and the ground is solid chalk and flint all the way down now some off the earths my bull terrier can get down but some are tight and there is no way a 16-17 inch 30lb is going to dig to the gear no matter how determined it is.So i believe these dogs do have their uses but on the ground i am hunting their are earths they will fail in Quote Link to post

My mate has a dog much like yours and he has impressed me all last season totally dominating his quarry sometimes where other dogs have failed to do anything with it.Buy twice we had to dig to him in a tube and no matter how much he tried he just couldnt go any further but at the same time he wouldnt quit. Now i would jump at the chance to own this dog but it always makes me laugh when i hear if they want to get there they will dig their way there sometimes yes but not always Good luck with him Quote Link to post
