spep21 0
I have bullx's and one of the pups from a litter of 10 has a slightly broken coat but is still very racey. I have been told tat it is from the bull terrier side as they are line bred and inbred alot and every certain amount of generations some different genetic pool gets inserted into the gene pool to shake things up. This could be a wheaton for example and so every now and then there may well be something that is not quite what is expected. I have read up on this and it is quite plausible. Quote Link to post

This has been said to me by someone a couple of days ago and i totally agree that this is the more likely explanation, There is alot of line-breeding and in-breeding in the bull breeds.. At last someone making a bit of sense... Quote Link to post

Dawn B 212
You can get DNA tests done now to confirm parentage on Dogs, that would solve the issue for you. Just £21. http://www.aht.org.uk/genetics_dnaparentage.html Quote Link to post

Just £21. http://www.aht.org.uk/genetics_dnaparentage.html No point we know the parents, absolutly no doubt.. 100% the most explainable reason is the one spep21 has come up with,, and this is what we thought too, Quote Link to post

Mars 42
A mate of mine had his bitch put too for his own use, I have had one of the pups, Can you tell what breed he is... If the pup grows to be a decent worker then that coat could hide the odd nock, that a working dog can get through the course of it`s working life, Mars. Quote Link to post
Kye 77
For a measly 21 quid, i would get the test done...i would put money on a split litter...how can two dogs like a Bull and a Greyhound make a pup like that...impossible imo,...but i 'aint no exspert...i would get the test done. For the sake of 21 quid, you will be able to see if your keeping on a well bred worker (although a genetic freak) or some mangy old street cur hybrid....why waste two years of your time when you can no fro sure?... Nice looking little pup mind you, hope it works out.. Kye.. Quote Link to post
