Strong Stuff 2,171
Had a cracking day out at the Staffs Moorland show today, forgot I was supposed to be on my stall more than once (thanks Mick and Sue for your help on that one!) Seen a couple of outstanding dogs today, 2 of which should be on this thread: Sire to the pup on page 1: Uncle to the pup: Met and spoke to the lads who bred this litter today, and if they say nothing else got to the bitch then nothing did, they aren't divvies, they know the score. Hope that post earns enough points to pester you lads again when my pup is older!!! Genuinely good to meet you all today, it makes the world of difference actually getting to speak to you lads than me standing behind my stall and everyone thinking I'm trying to empty their pockets! skycat 6,173
This is totally fascinating! Maybe there were 2 odd genes which just happened to be carried recessively by both parents. Put them together and they throw a small hairy pup: similar things have happened often enough with humans: look at normal sized parents producing children with dwarfism: often a lot hairier than normal people too. Just a thought! Quote Link to post

mart123blue 0
i still think he looks great Quote Link to post
dogman89 0
You can get DNA tests done now to confirm parentage on Dogs, that would solve the issue for you. Just £21. http://www.aht.org.uk/genetics_dnaparentage.html No point we know the parents, absolutly no doubt.. 100% the most explainable reason is the one spep21 has come up with,, and this is what we thought too, just do it to prove that they are the parents. cause it seriously looks like there is some sort of retriever in there. id be greatly surprised if there isnt Quote Link to post
rob.i 26
my guess was going to be retriever x wheaton Quote Link to post
Guest wex
I have read this topic with great interest and i am with the owner fully. I dont have any logical explanations for why this has happened,as i am not an expert but i have seen it before. A local lad from nr my home town(liverpool) had a pup that was out of a very famous bullx from south wales. The pup was a ringer for the pup in this topic, at first i too thought it was a retrieverx. The lads dog was definately bullx on both sides so i think its a genuine bullx. I think this could only occur when breeding generation bullx to generation bullx, hybrid vigour cheers wex.
