Seeking permission

I am based in Surrey. Have been searching for vermin permissions for quite some time now.

 

So far I've....

 

1) Wrote letters to several local farmers (no replies)

2) Approached farmers in person (the refusal here is mostly that they enjoy the pest control / taken care of)

3) Left a message in a shop window. (no replies)

4) Posted ads where possible online (no replies)

 

I have also approached a few syndicates who mostly seem to be interested in the shotgun / organised shoot side of things... am I missing some?

 

Any ideas? Is it honestly this hard starting out for everyone?

 

Its feeling a bit like

 

I have web site design / development / pc fixing skills to offer as a sweetner but I'm not sure how much success I could have offering these.

I've always found asking for ferreting permission to start with is a good way in...after a few weeks or months as you get to know your host you can enquire about things like shooting etc....like the guys said dont give up all you need is one yes...good luck!

Update:

 

Well after even more efforts and knock backs I have decided to my efforts to find permission is bloody futile. I cant get a good response for love nor money!

 

I have even contacted the locals looking for a place where I can turn up, pay them some cash, and go practice in a field with my targets..... no f**king luck!!!!

 

Now even considering selling my setup.

 

A totally irritated....

ask if you can zero your air rifle in one of the farmers fields , make sure to go back and thank him and get talking to him

 

if you got kids ... use them !!! 'would you mind if i shoot a few target against a bail with my son / daughter'

i printed a few of these off and put them in all the local village shop windows

i had some in the motor and grabed one and went in to a golf course and handed one in to the guy behind the counter and thats how i got my new permishion

 

try it if you got a printer wack your phone number on it and hand a few out it worked for me
