bullet 125
asuming you'll have some one to show you the ropes, first bird to hop for is a harris hawk, most people will tell you this, there are others that will do the job like the gos or redtail but i wouldnt reckonmend these for a beginner Quote Link to post
Mark.B 0
If your thinking about buying a bird for hunting rabbits then a Harris hawk would be a good bird. But what you need is a good knowledge of where to house them, what to feed them, how to train them, first aid and common ailments the list is endless. You won't get all this out of books but it will help. What you could do is join a club if one near you or find a mentor who will show you the ropes with some good advice. It isn't a cheap sport to get into and it isn't just the cost of the bird to take into consideration. There is the aviary, glove, bowperch, bath, swivels, leashes, jesses, bags or vest,tellemetry,e.tc. Hope this helps Quote Link to post
