Its the bolt action he's getting, so what is the best ammo for it then lads?? My old man knows more about guns than I do but he cant use the computer, ha. he struggles with the t.v remote, so its been left to me to find out about it. Must say though the more i go out with him and the rifle the more i enjoy it. I think the bug is about to bite me. ha.

Well not really... you don't just wake up one morning and think "I know, I want a 22 today, let's buy a Ruger". You think, I want a rifle to kill rabbits, or a rifle to shoot targets, or a blend, or I want a lightweight rifle, or I want the most accurate rifle in the world.

Ad infinitum, but there must be some reasoning in there somewhere!

However, my opinion of the Ruger 77/22 stays the same anyway, it's pretty accurate and pretty reliable, but too expensive for what it is.

A solid rifle, but a Quad is more accurate and a CZ better value, and they're both considerably cheaper. But, if you have money to burn, the Ruger is a nice rifle. Just not the best bang for buck (please excuse piss poor pun, it's late :))

No he didnt just wake up one morning and think "I know, I want a 22 today, lets buy a ruger", like I said he seen it, he liked it now he wants to know more about it. He hasnt bought it yet and may find something else but fear not I will ask him all these questions you have mentioned guys. Mind you some of them do sound a little daft. I would have thought the most accurate rifle on the market would be the one shoot by the most accurate shooter?????

Good point moggs!

All guns are 'accurate' lots of 'shots' aint :whistling::whistling:

Use a 10/22 on the bunnies at night myself its a good cheap tool for the job.

Put hundreds of rounds through it from start of harvest until the new crops got too high!

It can be tricked up if you want as has been mentioned.

Needs a frequent clean because it sometimes jams when using subs if you dont due to the wax!

Rotary mags can also play up but again keep them clean they are fine as well.

Thank you very much. A simple answer to a simple question.
