Guest pip
Think in an old edrd theres a letter or short article about someone NE or further up keeping them for work?Never heard anything since though.but theres a million miles between a game looking fighty type killing rats etc in its own back yard and the qualities that are needed to stay for hours in the quarries back yard. Rare, never seen before footage of Simoman at an earth trial on the continent Thanks Stabs, that was a great day, remember the trip over to Germany with Rambo the westie and that old show winning Scottie of yours....Angus was it? I remember we had to give the dogs torches and a miners hat because they were scared of the dark................Happy days, I added the westie blood into Wilfs linebred yorkies.....real animals, would kill a rat in no time.......well if they had ever caught one. Yes but thats probably 1 in a million, and many dogs will kill rats and mice its earthwork that tests their character of the dog.......... Quote Link to post

There was a pet westie accidentally went to ground in a badger sett in hamsterley forest a few years back, whilst the owners had it out for a walk.. Quote Link to post

Stabs 3
Aye, you're not wrong there Simon. Here's Rambo going to ground on those mice If I remember correctly Rambo had three sessions to ground that day? He mixed it with the first two mice but by the third, he'd learned a bit of discretion. We lifted the hatch to him and he was sat off a bit, baying away like a good un' Quote Link to post

We lifted the hatch to him and he was sat off a bit, baying away like a good un' By his death at the ripe old age of 25 he had accounted for 35 mice, 3 rats and a disabled squirrel. All single handed apart from the rats, the squirrel and 34 of the mice.......... He sadly passed after going to ground after a hormone laden shrew during the breeding season, I couldn't dig him out before the shrew could inflict a terrible mauling........The only consolation is he sired 89 litters and made me some serious coin... RIP Rambo.... Quote Link to post
