The red can't be dominant, it must be needed on both sides.

 

There has been another litter of plummer x's born recently to a patterdale (not mine) and all the pups are either black or black & white.

put my dog over a red fell 2 came red and 2 plummer marked.i kept plummer marked bitch.shes 5months now with a rough coat(lot of the old early plummers would have been simaler).ugly as a tater with teeth she is but looks dont kill and shes full of the joys of a terrier.the 2 red ones looked like the ones ratting in your pics last week.the other plummer one would pass as a plummer all day.

2 red and 2 plummer marked is exactly what you would expect (Mendels) from that breeding.

didnt know what to expect to be honest.was told you cant breed plummer marked dogs by putting one to a fell so when one of my old fells came in i tried it and seems you can,one thing i am sure of is that if it anything like its parants it wont back away from anything when its time comes.mendels?

Theres no tri's in the litter CJ, two have black and white markings and three have brown and white, at least thats how it looks at the moment.
