a lamping mate of mine had a bedlingtonxgrayhound bitch a good few years ago she was the ownly one i seen working i have to say iv lamped lot of dogs but she was the best rabbiting bitch iv ever seen but would not tackle a fox

Horse's for course's,my BeddyxWhippet bitch does everything i want her to.As a ferreting dog she is faultless, she didn't do much last winter on the lamp as she was only a baby,im sure this season will be much better.She's 17 months old now,and nothing like the timid wee skinny thing i had out over the winter.

a own a pure greyhound an put a straight beddie/ghound 1st cross over her nearly 2 years ago..got 6 pups bred 3/4 an 2 went to pet homes the rest went to workin homes...my mate got one(for free) an it loves to go ferreting breaks foxes in two an has just taken his first deer single handed....a put pictures up about 6 months ago in a previous thread about this cross to let people see what the 3/4 greyhound beddie looked like..mostly whippet crosses you see of this breeding. my mates dog is 25" tts an weighs in at around 65lb,got a good big strong head an is great with other dogs an kids as well....took a bit of time to break to sheep though..the sire was from the heartbreak kennels an the beddie side of the breeding on him was granitor a will try an find the pictures again.......cheers lads..

i can agree with you there but they wont come excellent rabbiting dogs if the time isn't there so really its all down to time and effort but the i will say most bedlingtons x's round my area are ment to be very good

I have a beddie first cross,self entered to fox,I dont eat rabbit so she hasnt had many,but she does ok for what I want her to do.

I had a beddy whipgrey 23inch good ferreting dog lamping dog. But the best thing about her was her nose, she could air scent a rabbit or fox at a hell of a distance, and work it up and make a kill, im sure that was the original reason for this cross. Adds a bit of protection with a beddy coat, but i beleive it was for the nose that this cross originated, and adding terrier blood cant be bad, because there isnt a more game dog than a good working terrier.

there was only one bitch in the litter an she is 24" tts an very slim built(not sure exact weight) a will find out cos its my wifes sister who has her...she is jet black an smooth coated..like a very small greyhound in appearance..3 of the litter were broken coated an the other 3 smooth..the one my mate has looks more like a mini deerhound!! hope this helps...a really need to find the pictures of them .....he tends to wind up into a run if you know what i mean ...looks like hes galloping an then goes flat out as opposed to the greyhound who goes into top gear straight away cheers lads
