quickdrawmcgraw 0
Took 'the lad' out early this morning for the usual 3 mile rabbit chessing session with no result. He's a 3y.o. fell terrier btw. I called him over to hook him up to go back home but he seemed preoccupied in the hedgerow. He had his head down a rabbit burrow and started to dig.He showed a keenness I've never seen in him before, soon the earth was flying and he was snapping the roots with his jaws. After about 15 minutes, and much encouragement from me, a loud squeal was heard followed by the violent shaking of his head and the first young rabbit was thrown out dead.I turned round and punched the air.....YEEEESSSS!!!.ONE AND A HALF YEARS OF NO SHOW AND NOW THIS. He quickly dispatched of four more of it's siblings in the same manner. We left four of them for the crows and he picked one up in his mouth and proudly walked down our street with his trophy....bloody show off. quickdrawmcgraw 0
Yep got there in the end Mick.I suppose patience is a virtue. I don't understand the sudden change after all this time,we've been out doing the same round since he was 12 weeks old. He's chessed them but always gives up when they go to ground. Took him out this morning and again he was at it,he's showing a real natural ability.Late developer?. Quote Link to post
