STAN22 3
Just recently theres been some great threads on fox dogs, draw dogs, and hare dogs. Which is all banned now. So im takin upon myself to start a thread on deer dogs, as for me it is very impressive to see a dog take a deer pre ban of cause. There's some great reading on it in jd's running dog addiction, but would love to read some more story's etc. YIS Stan Quote Link to post

Guest Rabbiteer
I cant really say I have a deer dog in any way shape or form........I have only ever seen my dog chase one and it was when I was out ferreting one day and my small 17incher chased a Roe buck in to a tree and it died. It was all very strange, I must say All the best, Rabbiteer Quote Link to post
whin 463
well what can i say what type of things would you like to here and well its hard to [bANNED TEXT] to much as its a prickly subject maybe left alone even tho ive done it for decades for money food sport , and took several people out for sport helpers etc as far as the usa one wrote a good write up in a few american hunting mags , i enjoy fillets enjoy cion for them and have had the best sport a man can ask for but well its no fun at times and can bring no end of heat from land owners keepers wildlife laison officers so what skind of things do you want to know a slocaly hares roe are more numerous than rabbs in some places espec with the veni price not as good as it was in the ninties and early two thousand but things shall change maybe Quote Link to post

Guest SJM
Theres a serious lack of good dvds of dogs taking deer during the daytime as well IMO all the other stuff has been well covered, rabbiting, lamping, ferreting, coursing, ratting, foxing, but good quality dvds of dogs taking deer are thin on the ground. Bosun11 537
I think basically, its just to much of an emotive subject for 'ol Joe public. A nice glossy cover on a DVD of this game outside a stall at a gamefair or better still, sold on ebay, would certainly attract the 'wrong' interest. I recon many who have produced film for the fieldsport market would fight shy of possibly bringing a whole heap of 'shinola' on top of themselves and hunting in general, if stills were shown centre pages of The News of the World, or footage was shown as a video nasty on some debate programme on TV? Just my thoughts....... but I could be very wrong!! Quote Link to post
