Unusual fishing-methods.........

Recommended Posts

Next year when the nights are drawing out that piss take will be no more :gunsmilie: I hope :whistling:

Another good clip with a great haul of fish :victory: Surely you could make your own cast net cheaper than 65 quid. I've got a bit of lead rope left over, doubt It would be enough for a whole net though and I would still need the mono. Still If your ordering again, I wouldn't mind getting one :victory: Would be handy going up the coast and casting off the pier.

Lead-line wouldnt sink it quickly enough Maty,my original one weighs an absolute ton,I wouldnt like to be throwing it all day,I have an old netting book somewhere showing a pattern for cast nets :icon_eek: I am surprised most pike-anglers dont have a small 6ft one in their bag, throw in a slice of bread, wait 5,cast out, voila, enough livebait for a days session.

This guy has an awesome technique,I might practice this actually, look at the perfect text-book spread, wouldnt you just like to be the one on the front of that skiff on a balmy florida evening, some people live the life mate :(

Fair enough, just thinking out loud and for a tenner It probably wouldn't be worth the hastle anyway. Would be alot cheaper in the long run rather than paying a fiver for a few fish  Live the life..... indeed they do, perhaps one day..

I've just found this on my PC. I must of found It somewhere online and liked the look of It. Come to think of It, It could of been you that posted It along, long time ago.

I might have posted it actually mate  Looks like one of those crappy A-4 instructional sheets I have crammed in a drawer somewhere  I have never paid a fiver for a few fish, wouldnt pay a fiver for a hundred to be honest,I would rather catch them myself  I still have to snare a f***ing pike yet :hmm:

I think It was something you put up thinking about It now, Not to worry either way. I've payed a fiver for a few fish, One of those frozen packs from the local fishing shop with mixed dead baits In. Still never caught a pike till I put on a double magot and even then I caught It on a pole :icon_eek: You come any were near a pike then mate, The trout are having non of It :(

Blast-fishing ranks alongside cyanide-fishing malt, very effective but incredibly destructive,I have been on reefs after they have been bombed, not pretty at all mate, but thats how some guys feed their families so its not my right to judge the method, theres certain towns you can visit where you see the occassional one armed deaf fisherman,I have seen quite a number, hazards of the game, but I have been into commercial fishing suppliers who sell cyanide and explosives under the counter, the cyanide is for collecting tropical-fish for the aquarium trade, but it kills more fish than it stuns as a method

over here we have something we call jug fishing. you hang a length of heavy line and a hook under a float (milk jugs used to be real popular). put on a chunk of bait usually a big slice of shad or bream or even a whole one. toss them out by the big inflow on a reservoir/lake or off a bridge on a slow section of river or canal. the next morning you run around collecting the jugs and usually a large number of large catfish. only real drawback is you need at least a small skiff or canoe for this.
