Foxgun Tom 75
Carrying a baton would constitute an offence, period!! your allowed to use reasonable force not excessive to defend yourself?? If your assailent was unharmed and attacked you? your use of a baton would be seen as excessive and illegal, as a lady it would not be illegal to carry a deoderant spray or perfume spray and use that as a defence as a last resort?? and argue it was your only means of defence against a bigger more aggresive assailent If that does'nt work just revert to your own tried and tested methods Sarah, just kick the fecker in the knackers Tom

minion 29
The world is a scary place now. Ive got a 3 year old daughter and a 1 year old daughter and it scares the hell out of me to think about the future when they are old enought to go out clubbing up the town. I remember when I was younger a fight was standing toe to toe with someone. Nowadays you are scared to look at people in case they have a blade in their pocket. My motto is "get in first" hit hard and keep them down, dont mess around and take chances. My wife and I were on a (rare) night out in Edinburgh a few weeks ago and we were walking to get a taxi when I noticed two guys walking behind us, we crosed the road and they followed so I had a rough idea of what was comming. My fist thought was getting my wife safe. She didn't even notice them and couldn't figure out why I crossed the road! so I told her to keep walking and turned round just as they approached us. I hit the first one square and fortunatly he stumbled over, I then got torn in to the other and really gave him a hiding making sure I was getting a good stamp on the first guy so he wouldnt get up. I left them both lying there and honestly couln't care how bad they were hurt. Who knows what they would have done do me and my wife. People like that are bullies and pray on people they think wont fight back. I can actually feel the addrenaline in me as I type as I am still really angry about this. I dont consider myselve as "hard" but I can hold my own when I need to. I never look for trouble but I sure as hell make sure if trouble comes looking for me I am getting in first! fielder 18
My dogs would be useless to me in an attack as they dont have a bad bone in their bodies, towards other people anyway but my old collie cross goes for my arms if I wave them about he has always done it since a pup, one time me and my ex were play fighting shoving each other around and he jumped up and nipped my arm, fecking agony he would probably end up joining in if someone attacked me So do other members feel their dogs would protect them? I would rather protect myself because if you did end up in a scenario where the police stopped you and you had bludgeoned someone attacking you with a stick/baton/whatever and they also had dog bite marks on them, I bet I know what would happen to the dog Having a dog that will protect you is reaaly useful, or even one that seems like it will. Does anyone recomend any particular lurcher cross?

dare 1,103
a kosh is deffiantly an offensive weapon charge. Id just sow a nice pouch in my boxers and keep a small can of cs gas there now ill stick up a picture in a few minutes of when i was cs gased by my best mate when we was having a mess around, quickly dashed water on my face which only made it worse. Wouldnt be able to do f**k all after getting a taste of that.
lurchergrrl 1,441
In the whole lurchers aren't a suitable dog for the job. Well I dunno ... I mean they're not usually that tough but they can be a bit scary. Out in the dark one night and some young lads were lurking and decided they'd scare the crap out of me - they chucked something off a bridge at me Griff emerged from nowhere, blocked my way so I had to stop moving and let out a most shocking growl followed by some ferocious barking Up till then I'd not thought he had it in him. His young sister has a wicked bark but underneath it she's a big chicken. But I'm convinced Griff would have put himself on the line for me. I like the lemon juice idea, cheap and cheerful. I'm glad you put this post up SJM, it's given me a lot to think about. I won't be put off or scared away (I'm no wimp), but I think I'll be a lot more aware now. gaz 284
Holy shit this post has blew my mind that a woman cant feel safe in the countryside...urban areas of town and cities sure but in the counrtyside...shocking !!! now ive read batons, coshes and this and that are a grey area with the legal issues attached to them if used as a offensive weapon but i say to all you good ladies dont let this cloud your judgment if threatened....hit the feckers hard with what comes to hand and worry about the legal consequencies afterwards
