Hi lads,

 

One of the places I ferret has a couple of trout ponds on them. The owner said he has found a few fish with just

their heads eaten .What would be doing this mink otter, feral cats ???????????

To be honest I have no idea what it is as up until this happend the only thing I hunt are rabbit ,rat and charlie .

aye i recon its an otter, one way to find out, cage trap then if its a mink cn shoot it if its an otter it can be let out

your trap will be empty and the bait gone as the otter will turn your cage and they are very powerful predators iv seen them wreck traps before dont forget an otter is sometimes over three feet long a bit much for an ordinary mink cage

use a cat cage we use them instead of mink cages, forgot to mention it, not had an otter in one but guess it wud hold one

put a thread up about 3 or 4 month ago with pictures showing what a otter can do to a cat trap... powerfull aint the word for them

you have an otter killing the trout , ive seen it on a good number of occasions , they kill some really big fish and just eat the heads. then dissapear and come back again,they are just a bloody menace .

ive trapped some really big boys with my pro trapper mate in canada , they might wreck a cat trap but the 220, bodygrip is the boy for them,
