Guest buster321c
I gave up 8 years ago because I saw many members of my family die from cancer, not a nice way to go Before that I smoked because I enjoyed it, although I used to get through 40 Lambert and Butlers a day....... I`m 38 this year , started smoking at 13 , 3 years back a close friend of the family battled long and hard against cancer . She ended up having a breast off , then another , then a brain tumour . It was hard to watch , and the worse thing was watching her daughter , 9 at the time , crying her heart out when she found out her mommy was dying . Liz had never smoked , or drank , infact she did`nt do anything she was`nt supposed to , where as i did everything i should`nt with no respect for my body . I could`nt belive how it was fair, so i stopped drinking and smoking and did a 50 mile sponsered bike ride to raise money for cancer research , the wife did the race for life , and being a dance teacher put on a show and all the money we raised went to the hosptial . Got the picture of Liz and Lisa ( the wife ) and the kids handing over the cheque at the cancer ward . I was crushed when she died . But glad that i tried to make a difference , even thought it took losing a good friend to make me see . Her husband has been here in the last hour , he`s brought a new bike , a harley fatboy , him and charlotte are going out on a ride with some other harley riders tonight , and truly the spirit of Liz shines in her eyes , I miss you Liz , you would be proud of them both xxxxxxxx In December its been 3 years we go to church every week now and i always say a little one for her .
