Gav 1,708
I only started properly when I was seven (thats 33 years now) but our granddad used to sit on his knee from when we were about four and give us drags of his cigars. I just smoke samson, drum or golden virginia now, what ever is available as its smuggled stuff, I only do two packs a week now so I cut down a lot I have no intentions of stopping, you'll have to kill me before I die (taken from yellow beard, before you all start)
mackem 26,209
Never saw the attraction, and only once dated a woman who smoked and she was a bisexual-Austrian who smoked an ounce of Afghani gold-seal a week But its an individuals choice providing you dont harm anyone else in this world whatever you choose to do,but isnt a prohibitive factor for you guys the price? The cost, for what they are is ridiculous
rabitin girl 16
Ive tried to give up loads of times without success , I think that if you could give up and never want another one I would do it , but the people I know who have given up say they all still crave a fag even after years of giving up
mart123blue 0
I smoked from age of about 11 to 30 finally giving up about 3 years ago. Patches worked for me along with realising that I will always be a Smoker who doesn't smoke. I don't miss the coughing in the morning, sometimes until I was sick. They are incredibly addictive and so good luck if you want to quit. Imagine all the hunting kit you could buy with the £5 approx a day you spend on tobacco.
mackem 26,209
£1700 a year Mart?
mart123blue 0
Savage when you think of it like that but it's true. Think about it, someone smoking 40 a day is going to be closer to £10 a day. Also when I smoked I would definitely smoke more when out drinking, so the 20 a day became 40 at the weekend. Don't want to appear smug because I know how hard it is, but the way things are at the moment that kind of money after tax is going to be very welcome to most people. mart123blue 0
Bit further than the corner shop though. Given the price of diesel at the moment, I wonder if it is even worth driving to France?

craftycarper 0
Oh god this may not go down very well but here goes i am so anti smoking. both may mum and dad used to smoke 20/30 a day all there life but i hate it . I am also a big believer that people who work with food ie cooks, chefs etc. should not be allowed to work with food if they smoke... sorry all you smokers why's that then, they can go have a good crap and pee then, wipe their backside with their hands, pick their noses and rub their nuts with their hands and its ok to prepare your food, but if they smoke its a no no...loony tunes spring to mind here
craftycarper 0
usually smoke Drum (blue) but have just switched back to GV, 1/2 ounce usually lasts two days but sometimes can last only the day...since i've been on here the last half hour od so i've just smoked six on the trot, bearing in mind that they are slightly twice the thickness of a matchstick, i also lilke the odd small pack of hamlets as well, the short ones...lovely
