Not so much living off the land, but money saving. Me and 'er indoors drink tea and coffe like its going out of fashion. Our kettle is on at least 30 times a day. Our leccy bills were sky high and the majority was down to the kettle, so , because the price of electric has doubled roughly in a year( gas nowhere near as much), we bought a whistling kettle for the gas hob- MASSIVE savings, really.

If you drink a lot of tea, seriously consider one of these , they are a tenner at argos and the money we have saved has been incredible!

i was thinking about this a while back

being a tight get ;)

did a google search and it uses about the same amount of power

but obviously the power used doesn't equate £££'s saved over a period of time

gas it's going to be

give the kids something to moan about anyway :D

cheers

if you drink that much tea and coffee then what you need is a burco boiler with a temperature gauge so that when the water has boiled it keeps it at that temperature ... it will save you a fortune ............

cut down on you tea and coffe, but your right kettle does use alot of lecky. you could use your microwave.

tea is a diuretic.. whats that? goes right through you and makes ya pee a lot.. which is wasteful in itself, right?

just drink water lol

but i do have a whistling kettle. sounds like a train whistle. can even hear it outside lol i've never paid attention to the electric bill, but i suppose so. saves you from forgetting and boiling the water all gone.....
