Guest JohnGalway
Hi all, I'm just thinking about getting a spotting scope at the moment. Something that's going to see .22 cal sized holes at 300 and 400 yards. I'd like to get a quality scope but money is an issue, though I don't have a specific budget. That's making it easy I know. I guess what I'm really looking for is reccomendations that I can go look at, read up on and see where that will lead me to. I know for certain I am definately not interested in El Cheapo junk, I already have one of those that I got in Aldi or Lidl. Go to 40x and 60x and you start to think it's getting into night time. So, optical quality and performance are high on the list. Throw a few good suggestions my way please All the best, John. Quote Link to post

He uses a Bushnell very good quality. The UK military have ordered a batch, they must be good. As for price well check USA I dont think export laws effect these. Optics planet is worth a look. Hope this helps. Sorry forgot to say its the Elite range of spotting scopes! Fastrac10 Edited July 8, 2008 by fastrac10 Quote Link to post
mattydski 560
I was considering a spotting scope, for the same reason as you, i.e. zeroing etc. I have my fathers old one which is a tasco and not good. I was at the Scone Game fair at the weekend and checked out the Opticron range of scopes. I had the chance to compare to much higher price scopes and was impressed. The reason I checked out Opticron, is because i have the bino's, which i am very impressed with. I would suggest you try this as a budget, but quality, alternative. I don't think you would be dissapointed. Matt Quote Link to post
