Im so glad i can be lectured on this site to correct my wrongfull ways . Ive had ferrets for forty years ferret 3/4 times a week raised plenty of kitts theres guy on here who know me and have been ferreting with me and can vouch for the condition of my ferrets but ive now take a note i doing it wrong .

I must strive to improve

I must feed flesh four times a day to my stock and have the place crawling with flies and maggots

Dont fecking think so

Bollocks.

Nobody's lecturing you.

Things change. Animal husbandry moves on as people find better ways to do things.

In my opinion things have not changed and animal husbandry hasn't really moved on.What has happened is that this computer thing has aloud us to talk.

Me feeding to last 24hrs in one hit is in theory the same as feeding 4 meals a day.

All this boils down to is the fact that some people have more time on their hands than others.

I don't agree with feeding chunks of meat in a bowl,on the bone and in the shavings for me but every one to their own.

Socks, I believe that a ferret would not survive for long in the wild, and it could not rear a litter of kitts, just my opinion,I have caught many that have been running free for a time and have been covered in ticks proof to me that they don't have what it takes to look after themselves properly.

It is very interesting to read how others do what they do.

One thing is for certain (maybe) you wont change my way and I wouldn't dream of changing yours. Good hunting All. P1

Guest Magwitch

I don't feed mine dry food for a few reason's firstly i always have an abundance of rabbits secondly the ferrets drink gallons of water and third they normally turn into porker's. A good working ferret should be fit not fat in my opinion. This is what they should look like lean and mean. Never lost a kit and been doing it the same way for years so it can't be all bad.
