sam3009 4
Just got permission on some land that has the worst rabbit infestation I have seen in 20 odd years. The land owner says he takes 20 to 30 coneys per day and has done for the last 2 years, with box traps, and shooting. There is one other lad who shoots when he can, BUT they Do'nt seem to be making a dent in the population. Having walked the ground, I reckon, with the ferrets, I could take 50 rabbits in a modest shift. this is considerably more than I would take normaly, given that I only take what I need for my own purposes i.e. to feed my animals!. I have two questions: 1: what is the going rate for rabbit these days? (at the butchers) 2: where can i get good quality long nets? any feedback welcome cheers K Quote Link to post
Guest bigredbusa
you will need to find a game dealer for that amount . i think im getting £1.25 - £1.50 this year Quote Link to post

Gav 1,708
It all depends on what they can sell, butchers find it hard to sell rabbit these days, the amounts your talking I agree with bigredbusa, your going to have to find someone with the demand. Expect £1 - £1.20 per head I would think. You are going to have to dress them and fridge them too, don't forget there are certain health and safety/hygene rules too when selling to the general public! Quote Link to post
The one 8,511
Butcher's give a good price but wont take large amount's regular game dealers will but at 30/50 pence a head and if they come to pick them up the petrol money comes out of that Quote Link to post
bowers1986 3
Id expect around a £1 a head if selling privately but imagine a game dealer will give you much less(ie: want to make a decent profit out of them).. Quote Link to post
