Zeroing My Quad

i havent had my new sako for long but its proving a good tool even when it wasnt set up properly today is first time ive set it up properly as before i was just sighting in a fence post for example, so the accuracy wasnt that great up until now! Now i aint sure whats the normal distance for zeroing a .22lr? as my old cz was just zeroed for roughly 30m i wasnt doing any huge distances just plinking one or two rabbits. Any who that aside , i left home around half 3 just went up the hill out of the way of the small town i live in. So i got to the place and set up just a pallet and put up my target nothin too fancy , set up the gun at 45m which is just short of 50 yards, took 2 shots and i was way off the bull so i adjusted to what i thought would work , and another few shots it was gettin better , so i adjusted further....and fired my last 5 shots of winchest power points these are the 40 grain head which differ to the winchester lasers by being slightly heavier not by much , but thats what the dealer suggested. heres a few pictures too see what you think. i dont know wether its good or not should i be zeroing in at 100 yrds whats the norm??

I zero my .22lr at 50m on the range which gives me a reasonable flat

trajectory from 25m - 75m which suites my shooting style and land its

all to do with how confident you are with longer shots if you zero to an

average of the ranges your shooting you will soon know your gun and

ranges you shoot inside out and easy

The norm does not matter, although people will tend to zero .22LR subs between about 50-70 yards.

 

What is important is what range you are likely to be taking most shots...zero for that!!!

 

My opinion is, 100 yards is a little far for a normal .22LR, but I have taken plenty of bunnies at that distance and further with mine...we are all different though, and we all have different requirements..set it up and enjoy the way that works best for you and your land!!!

There was a poll done on the zero distance on .22lr on another forum. The two most popular distances were 50 and 60 metres/yards, I zero mine at 60

yes i go for 60 yard zero to but like deker said go for a zero that suites your shooting most. i find my mtc perfect for my shooting with the different aim points out to 100 yards.
