sounder 9 Posted July 4, 2008 Report Share Posted July 4, 2008 hi it was a lovely evening here yesterday so said to sounder jnr will we go for a walk, as always him jumped to the chance, we went to a place where its wide open land hopeing to get a long range shot,so as we arrived we seen a flock of crows around a cut field . so we headed to that spot they flew to the next field we lay down on a rise on the hill a good veiw aroud sounder jnr was on the bins i on the scope the crows were looking good i had itchy finger but held out for abit 2 hare came in to field we were in and sounder jnr had them spotted,he wanted to take the head off one but i said no we wait to see if a fox show his head first,all he said was after about a hour of sitting there, i heard a magpie going mad way out in the valley a long wall of trees came down to the bottom of a field about 500yrds away i said to jnr to keep his eyes peeled, 20mins pasted no sign ...........then .i heard ....there dad look!!!! a fox!! i could see the fox just in the line of the trees mooching about,..jnr go on and give a call, afew pip on the call and the fox looked up ........then gone into the trees O i said not his first day he heard that i said, we keeped looking for him for a half an hour or so with not sign, till jnr ask are we going home yes i said lit a fag and stood up just then about 300yrds or there abouts a fox showed away down the hill under us,jnr there he is i said,with that i said NO don't call as he put it to his mouth.why he said he run again he got my point and just looked on, the walk along the cover as i lined it up it turnd and sat down i lock on to it and BANG as the sound rang out across the valley the fox fell like in slow motion YOU GOT HIM shouted jnr as the crows took to the air giveing there warning calls as they flew over us i go get him said jnr so i said ok but if you can't get over the wall i go down to you, I WILL as he ran off , i was over the moon with the shot as i don't get many long range shots it was about 300yrds that long range to me,stood up again had a victory fag as you do saw jnr looking up at the wall it was about 5 foot over him so i went down after him to give him a hand anyways,as we looked at the fow to see where the bullet was placed . bang on just under hi eye pushing his eyes out of his head and a hole out the back of his head as we walked back to the jeep we talk about the fox about calling them and other bits he learn well and listens good,can't wait tell i am the spotter and he is the shooter,i love going of with him on walks i learn from him and he learn from me abit of a long write up but i had f**k all to do today, cheer sounder Quote Link to post
