Hello all, im going to have a look out ferreting in the morning, not really the best time of year but my kitts need some meat so it has to be done and it was absoloutly lifting with rabbits when i last went up with the air rifle, so a bit pest control is in order too, wish me luck will post pics tomorrow

 

best of luck ferretkid.pest controll thats what its all about. i find open well used sets in wooded areas of land best at this time cool pretty much well open too this time of year .or sets on open field anyway have fun bud

good luck mate i had to go out a couple of weeks ago it was hard work but like you say the kits have got to be fed some advice check your ferrets for ticks a day or 2 later mine always get them this time of year and take plenty of water with you for the ferrets ok mate cheers

would'ent shooting with your air rifle, give you the same ammounts

although Id never turn down ferreting anytime of the year, ferreting in summer normally brings in 5 or so rabbits, shooting 35 plus

Be better off with the air rifle ,mind you i love my lamping and where getting great bags at present

Got rained off today but going tomorrow weather permitting

Your best waiting i dont think rabbits bolt well when its raining or windy

Ive seen a good few bolt when they are hard pushed .

I went out today did a tiny stetch of hedge 50 yards longnet but the longnet all the way rounf 10 yards from the hdge because of brambles and the rabbits bolted amazingly no small ones bolted four caught four, easy no layups or anything. Well worth going out i love it.
