"Earth!" 503
i enjoy a good read like any other man and looking at some decent photos but unfortunately the books are not only on sale to us legitimate terrier(etc) lads therefor only giving more ammo and educating the anti brigade. i wish 1/2 the lads that get slated on some of these threads were members of this site then maybe some of the twats that do all the slagging off too could be educated.. I have known David for quite some time, but i know Steve better,They are both very very good Terriermen, and Dave's mag is what it is!It's like a tin of beans,it says beans on the tin and thats what's in it!EDRD is just that,im not so keen on his books lack a bit substance for me,but i don't expect every one to agree with me on that one,Seems to me there are far too many people willing to slate someone at the drop of a hat, thats what gets me about our sport,in this day and age we should really stick together. Couldn't agree with you more fella had the pleasure of meeting david on a few occasions very genuine fella.I know his "digging pals" better perhaps some of these boys should go and tell them how they feel about them and there dogs! But would they?I think not!its easy to sit at a keyboard and slag people off.Sticking together is the only way forward Quote Link to post
desertdog 149
agreed fw, but they never will stick together, and thats why we are all in a dodgy position, to many dik eds, that think they know better, mr harcombe is one of our national treasures of the hunting world, and we dont have to many left, a man of experience some one who has brought on and nurtured young digging lads and taught them well, when i was a boy id look up to men like these and feel good about it, i look forward to my edrd everymonth, and long may it continue, you,ll not please everyone, it was,nt long ago that another well known terrier man was being slagged off i think its par for the course on here. Oh i agree with that,Maybe should have said all in the same boat,Paddling in different direction's,I knew DBP in the 70's and 's,And i'm more than aware of the trouble he stirred up,But you ask the same folk's who slate him,and i bet nearly all have some of his book's!!!People seem to get very jealous of another mans success,And it's a great pity because some who slate them didn't even know them! It's good when young people have someone to look up too,it doesn't really matter if its David H,or DBP!Love them or hate them, they both in their own way did good for our sport!! And this is what i find hard to grasp,If you have a Terrier, regardless of breed,if it does the job you want it to do,why does someone have the right to slag it off,Simply because of the Name of the breed??What one person finds useful in a terrier is not always what another one wants!!I'm a great believer in the thought, that it doesn't matter what breed it is,if you train it correctly then your fail rate will be low,And even the best of bred terriers will undoubtably from time to time fail, thats the nature of the beast!! "Earth!" 503
if you got the correct breeding, then you are on the correct path most of the time..i stick to stuff i know myself. as long as your happy with the way your terrier works,to hell what others may think..all i can say is,i gat the results with mine and dont wish to change the lines Quote Link to post
