Guest lurcherboy2008
What are these like at working are they still as fast as a whippet ? some people ask that about bull greyhounds, iv seen a really heavy bull gryehound take over my old red dog hes deerhoundgreyhound/bullgreyhound back to a colliegreyhoiund saluki greyhound and he could run real well, he threw back to the mother, salukigreyhound/colliegreyhound standing 26 tts but the big 27tts bull x took over him easy in a straight line but could never keep up on the bends, also it depends on what they throw back to, the bull or the wippet but i havent seen 1 work to say how they go Quote Link to post
downsouth 7,365
suppose it depends on how they are bred if you put an 18 inch whippet with a great big heavy bull they will most likely be too cloddy i used a 22 1/2 inch whippet on my 19 1/2 42lb bull and the ones i have seen are all 21-22 inches and look like strong whippets with good bone Quote Link to post
brother fox 1
Nice tidy animals. Do you put these offspring back to the whippet? Quote Link to post
allgame 0
my uncle owned a bullygrey wippet x wippet best rabbit dog id seen off a ute but to small for us it was just a less fragile whippet run it through scrub and it wouldnt bust up like the whippy dogs do Quote Link to post
threbb 0
What are these like at working are they still as fast as a whippet ?Whippets arnt usually as fast as greyhounds and some are pretty slow compared to anything. The thing about whippets is they always look fast on there own or two together but put a big fast lurcher next to them and they look like they are standing still. Im talking about the chase here not playing about in a paddock. If you have a whippet and you want to add teeth and keep or improve on speed then add bull/greyhound. After that I wouldnt add anymore whippet it goes a long way. Quote Link to post
