fireman 10,998
Plummers on the whole are a sencible terrier, some are firey but on the whole most get on with other dogs. Most have a good nose equal to anything else and a good hunting drive, they work along side of others and have bags of stamina.I have 2 which have ticked all boxes so far even down to a little earth work and all is going well, work with ferrets, bushing.A plummer even won the gun dog scurry at the welsh game fair last year but the organizer's had to give first prize to a gun dog breed, also know of a few keepers who have them as allround shoot/pest control dogs. Keeps 403
Been ratting with one, but not seen her bushing. Temperament-wise she was much fierier than the plummers, quite possessive over rats/marks, but very good at ratting. With her dam in the top pic Quote Link to post
bigbird 7
Keeps off topic a bit but that last photo is truely fantastic Quote Link to post

Guest ooty
i bred a litter, ther were two that came out red and rough coated like the mother and two that were plummer marked,i kept a plummer marked bitch and placed the other plummer marked one(a dog) with a friend,my bitch is 4 months now and and her coat has turned rough, the dog has stayed smooth and would be hard to tell the differance between him and a stright plummer, temp wise is as much as you'd expect from any young terrier.full of itself and mischife good with kids though,i no of another litter where the plummer was put to a black bitch and all pups came rough and red, Quote Link to post

FLATCAP 6
Plummers on the whole are a sencible terrier, some are firey but on the whole most get on with other dogs. Most have a good nose equal to anything else and a good hunting drive, they work along side of others and have bags of stamina.I have 2 which have ticked all boxes so far even down to a little earth work and all is going well, work with ferrets, bushing.A plummer even won the gun dog scurry at the welsh game fair last year but the organizer's had to give first prize to a gun dog breed, also know of a few keepers who have them as allround shoot/pest control dogs. 90% OF THEM IS VERY HIGHLY STRUNG Quote Link to post
fireman 10,998
Not getting into a row mate (ooty's your man for that)but i would say yes highly strung but not out of control, full of drive and desire for whatever you have for them. One of mine can't stand still, allways on the go full of life but not out of control. If i don't take her out for a day or two she does let me know, but a dog full of drive just needs to have a release for it.Tis a grand pic that Keeps. FLATCAP 6
Mine are so highly strung at home I find them extremely difficult to manage As fireman has said, they are very driven dogs , and switch into another gear whilst out hunting. They require a lot of work and exercise to keep them happy and calm, but I'd have thought the same could be said of any type of terrier from working lines.. sorry i take it all back i no what u mean . i can see see from the that theyve had lots of work Quote Link to post
Keeps 403
sorry i take it all back i no what u mean . i can see see from the that theyve had lots of work only a keyboard warrier could ever make that assumption from a photograph. Quote Link to post
