fathom 2
Hi everyone how has life been treating yous all? its been sometime from i've been on the fourm to cut along story short my laptop burnt out girl friend finished with me over the dogs and my way of life, had to find a new home dogs not settling in you know the usual day to day s**t that life throws at us. starting to get settled after all the madness and getting a bit of time to come back on the fourm using my brothers laptop. Any how on a brighter note i have a question for you's lads and lasses im currently using a HW77 left to me by father its nothing wrong with the gun i've taken many quarry with it as did my father before me but its very slugish and im not one to go out for half an hour here and there its more like half a day and after a couple of hours stalking about with this bad boy is starts to get a bit heavy and uncomfortable. its time i follow my own teast and get a gun that suits me, i have browsing though the airgun mags and have narrowed my likes down to an AirArms S410k or a career 707k I like the AirArms s410 as its a very eye pleasing little gun plus the fact i've read many good write ups about it, i have'nt read or heard any bad points about this gun its all been good. i like the career 707 for no other reason than the abilty to turn the poundage up and down at will this appeals to for the fact that i can be shooting in and around a barn at 8ft pounds and step into the field tune it up to 30ft pound and do a days hunting. the gun itself not much of a looker but like my dogs id rather have an ugly good worker than a good looking bad worker. i have'nt read any articles on this gun so dont know of any bad points. i also here this gun can be tuned up to 80ft lbs and that it requires a special slug to shoot at this poundage is there any truth in this if so could someone explain futher. sorry if im baffling on a bit  so folks all your opinions on these two guns good and bad are welcome all replies will be recieved with thanks thanks for taking the time to read my post, happy hunting all. yours in sport Fathom Edited July 1, 2008 by fathom Quote Link to post
mackem 29,013
I had a very nice Career 707,great gun, very pointable, liked it a million times better than my AA s410,I think the pellet your refering to is the Dae Sung, made for shooting at high FT'Lbs. Quote Link to post
Guest rexdigger
cant go wrong with a career707 in my eyes if powers only up at 30 then bisley magnums will do the job any higher and you will need proper career pellets and one other thing you WILL struggle to get a career707 now as everyones stopped importing them Quote Link to post
mackem 29,013
They stopped importing them because the power had to be reduced to comply with UK regs. The pellet for the ft'lbers was the Dae sung, the career 707 turns up often enough on BBS.Fish are in Durham Rex,got a mate who had a couple a few days ago.
