Wide rifle sling for heavy rifle

I'm looking to try a new sling for my Remington. Currently I have a Butler Creek Comfort Stretch sling. It's good but I think a wider one would be better as the weight would be distributed more evenly on my shoulder. Any good suggestions please?

I think I have a bouncy BC here myself, John. I also have another which I used to use on my Birding 'scope. As I recall, there's really not likely a lot in it and I doubt they do them any wider

Sorry to say john that the butler creek one you have is about the best of them.........so get to the gym

Harkila do a ruck sack type rifle sling, good for long walks. Look on the seeland website.

Montrose guns and tackle have an Ebay shop which stocks Harkila. Mike is pretty easy to deal with as well.

try the outdoor connection ones, good width, one handed adjustment for length and has a thumb loop so make it easier to keep on your shoulder, 100% recommended, retails for £30... available in black, realtree etc..

I have a wide one for my T3 Hunter even though it is not heavy, about 2"wide, padded but also got a non slip shoulder backing, cost me £30 just acouple of weeks ago but I can't remember the make...sorry......

 

....other option......get a lighter rifle!!

have a look at this john best sling i have had in 25 years my rifle is a big lump and this sling makes it easy even on the open hill, money well spent. remmy.

I bought a really wide real tree sling from these people on ebay a couple of weeks back for about £6 including delivery and it is the business on my Remington 700. Here is their link
