anybody see the other weeks cmw with the photo of the two lads and there rifle and around 40 foxes that they shot in one night fair going by anybodys standards but isnt this proof of the damage that the lads with there rifles can do to a certain species im a big fox hunting devotee and this is just another example of an unjust law i mean they have banned hunting with dogs and these lads go out in one night and shoot about half the amount a fox pack might take in a season no disrespect to anyone who shoots with any type of gun.i too shoot but for me the only way to hunt foxes is with the use of dogs its not about mass killing or even killing for sport a pack of hounds is a sure way to clear out the old and infirm only the strong survive these lads with the rifles if they have shot this amount recently then what about the cubs now starving to death the labour goverment what a bunch of wankers what is everybodys veiws on the subject good hunting

Im all for fox hunting. Like you say, the hounds help to weedle out the old and hurt, something that a gun will never do.

Of course there is a place for shooting, but hounds had an important place too.

The stupid, green, tree hugging, anti fox hunting brigade are responsible for changing the laws...nobody said anything about keeping the fox under control.

 

I have not seen this but 40 in one night is incredible, and is a reflection of the simple fact that this ground was saturated.

 

The land owners dictate vermin control not shooters..you are not allowed to hunt with horses and hounds..you can kill them any other legal way...the car seems quite effective, apparently 100,000 are killed on the roads every year!

 

I shoot fox for a hunt, we then make a mess of them ..put them in a sack, some poor b*****d runs over a load of fields dragging the sack, and the horses and hounds chase after the scent....

 

Its called a drag hunt..how many fox did that save!

40 in one night is alot of foxes i cant see that myself ! they would of had to have a lot of ground to shoot over as foxes have there own area they stick to so i couldnt see there being 40 foxes in one area.

 

i dont like foxing with hounds to be honest but like you mite not like the shooting side of it so its each to there own.

i no hunting with dogs has been around for years and years so alot of people find it as tradition and its like taking there hobby away from them like taking shooting away would be to a shooter.

 

i just find with the rifle its more humane but thats just me

humane only if you hit it 100% in the money with a dog its either dead or escaped no in between as for cruel a fox is killed just as quick with a pack of hounds read the book the hunting gene scientists have done studies to prove the trauma is over in a flash anyway its not ment to be an argument i too like i said go out with the gun and fair play to everyone that does i was just raising the point

Fox hunting isn't about killing foxes - they're vermin, who cares how they die so long as it's reasonably humane? Every method has the odd one that has a painful death, be it being run over, shot or chased by the hounds.

 

For me it's all about personal freedom - if I want to chase a fox with a dog and a horse when I could shoot it from a nice warm car, in a FREE society, that's my choice - it's not affecting any other people. For me, when the 'rights' of vermin exceed the importance of freedom, it's a very, very sad day indeed.

 

But, what do we expect from this government? Their controls and power seeking do have very serious comparisons with Nazi Germany, so it's to be expected I guess...
