Actually the LAD holding the dogs is a LASS, me !! he was watching the lurcher racing at hawick and was locked on the lure yes he is a very powerful dog but i can hold him :showoff: , scotsman took him to the start line for the racing and was pulled on his ass :clapper:

I 'owned' one for a bit, fantastic lookin thing, racy with a huge head, though got to be honest, I didn't rate it.

All this 'peformance bred' line stuff, it just didn't have the minerals....... I wouldn't have put it above any type of game lurcher. A 'normal' bred bull cross would serve better.

Head pic of it in my gallery, can't put any other ones up as my pc's playin up.

When you say it can run do you mean it could compete against a typical quarter bull 3quarter grey or a greyhound whippet or any typical lurcher shape because i would find that hard to believe. Its got all the wieght round the front and the shoulders look a bit straight for sustained running. no offence.

Hes a gorgeous dog, how was he bred? With you saying 50% scott and 20% greyhound?

Also whats he like in the house (if you have him in the house that is)? and has he taken on much of the bulldogs personality?

Thanks

i own one of the original scott/sandvalley litter imported from alan scott a few years back , i also also own a sporting bred bull terrier and up till a couple of years back had bull/greyhounds and i dont believe the AB has anything to add to a lurcher most are not as game as a good half cross. i was caught up with the hype about them but thats about all it is hype usually to sell pups

When we lived in Tucson there was a really great boxer/greyhound cross. We almost got her, but she doesn't do so well with other dogs (gets possessive of her master). Really neat dog. I met her brother too, they combined the athleticism of both breeds with the energy level of a boxer...probably why she's still up for adoption. I never saw her run game as she was kenneled by the rescue, but her adoption page says no cats or small dogs. ;)

Thanks for that information and youre honesty. I had thought about that type of cross myself but it would take a wrench to pull me away from the apb cross greyhound because it has done so much to prove itself over the years and it seems to click with the greyhound.

Theres nothing like getting a honest opinion from someone whos been there and done it.
