TOMO 26,127
: Some sad tales coming through, regarding Landywoods I tried them once,.long ago,.when I first went down the 'Barf route',...their gear was ok and certainly wetted my appetite to return to the 'old ways' of feeding my curs... However,..I have found that IF you can locate a Butcher that has to pay to have his bones and waste removed (and most do)...they can be persuaded to save you some chicken carcases and lamb necks, ribs,.beef trim, etc.. Not all butchers can be bothered admittedly,..but once you find the right guy,.and don't let him down ,.and collect what he has saved you on a regular basis,.well,.the 'Sky is yer Oyster'... Truth being,.I have to stop my butcher every few weeks ,coz I cannot keep up with the amount of gear that he puts by for me..Maybe forget the commercial suppliers for a while,..and instead,..go on a 'meat hunt',.its fun,.and frequently free... All the best,.CHALKWARREN... by heck thats some waste your butcher chucks away chalkie. i would be having them necks off and in the stew pan

Vermin Dropper 2
get mine much cheeper than landy and fresher. Doesn't seem much point saying that if you're not going to expand on it? I've tried Landy's recently and didn't much like the quality of the goods, I've been using TPMS for a few years now and think I'll be sticking with them unless I find anywhere cheaper for the same quality, my only gripe with TPMS (and it is a small one) is that they don't do "mince with veg" as they do at Landy's, but for the price and quality I'd rather buy from TPMS and add any veg myself,
Guest WILF
Another company a friend uses http://www.thedogfoodcompany.net/index.html Just made my 1st order with these chaps............friendly, deliverys every 2 weeks, prices good. I am afriad after wading through that rotten chicken that landys sent me for the last month, I cant be having that anymore. If the product is good (which I am sure it will be), no more landys for me. skycat 6,173
I blew them out a month ago as their tripe was so rank most of my dogs wouldn't even touch it! Still haven't paid for it though LOL
Vermin Dropper 2
I heard recently that a lot of Landywoods problem is that they can't get the supply of meat etc, someone I know at TPMS told me that Landy's had been on the phone a couple of times asking if they could help them with some meat supplies, of course they were told Bol***ks lol,
Simoman 110
Must admit mine has always been ok, my only gripe is I placed an order last Monday and I've got to wait until the 26th for it to arrive, that means I will have to buy a bag of dry crap to tide the dogs over................. forrest 12
i left landywoods six months ago,i was sick of the chicken been on the turn,it stank. they also took an unauthorised payment from my credit card and one day they said they would be delivering after lunch so i went out and they left the meat outside in the sun for ages. i use tpms now, both their lamb and chicken up to now is excellent,i will stick with them if the quality stays this good. marky r 25
will any of these deliver to leeds west yorkshire?
gnipper 6,467
Look in the yellow pages and look for local poutry processors etc and ring them up to see what they can do you. I get 6 kilo of fresh chicken carcase for a quid a box, lamb bones/pigs heads and tails can be obtained free when i but mince now and again which is cheap as chips from a butcher. If you ring round you'll cut out the middle man (landys, tpms etc) and also the time the meat is turning for.
