Wilky 0
I have quite a comprehensive collection of hunting badges dating over a good number of years and am looking for ideas on how best to display them. I thought about making a coffee table with a glass top and setting them beneath the glass on a nice piece of baize, or maybe doing the same with a picture frame. I'm hoping for some ideas of what people may have seen to prompt me to get my arse in gear and do something with them, instead of leaving them in a drawer doing bugger all. J Darcy 5,871
when i had a big collection of bagdes i used to display them in a large glass case on the wall. Instead of the traditional way of putting the pin through the baize i used blue-tack instead. much easier.also a few badges had the pins off, and others were of a funny design so this way it made things easier. have you got any good ones wilky? i used to have the pennine 25year, the first ever pennine, quorn LS, rochdale harriers!,wentworth 1900-1901 and loads of other old stuff....i should have kept hold of them really, but such is life.. good luck

Does the blue-tack really hold them in place, I've never used it. Sacrilidge as it might seem I thought about taking the pins off to make them easier to mount, losing value doesn't worry me, I've no intention of parting with them, I've had most of them since my late teens and I'm quite attached. spade 224
I know a chap who pins them on hunt ties and then pins the ties up
Gin 500
It would spoil them to remove the pins. The coffee table would be a nice idea. The badges are going for a lot of money now, so they would make a nice investment for the future,- if kept intact.
J Darcy 5,871
rarer than the 25 yr pennine is the first ever pennine. it was of the same design and a littl rough, with off-white enamel... i had 2 25 yr penines as they always made good swaps. i will try and post a pic of them, i think i had somewhere in region of 400. the otterhound badges were always the most expensive, the old West yorkshire M inkhounds was a good badge, hard to get hold of i never took the pins off, but other people often did before i bought the badges..
