alright everyone just been told by someone about the slime of slugs being dangerous to dogs at the moment.iv never heard of this before but she said she was in the vets and they sold her a type of dab thing that you just dab on there backs and this is supposed to stop the slime from doing any damage.just wondering if anyone can give anymore infornmation about it or if you have even heard it, or is it just the vets trying for more money out your pocket.cheers.

i presume that what she was talking about was LUNGWORM as this can be contracted from slugs and snails ....... there is no preventative medicenes for this so she is being ripped off by the vets .... the only cure for lungworm is panacure 10% in liquid form .........

I've just been to the vets about something else. I was asking him about lungworm as I lost a pup last year to it and I've heard it's getting more common.

He asked had I many slugs in the yard.

The vet tells me a new drip on (like frontline ) has just got it's liscence and will be available soon. It will do the usual parasites including lungworm.

It's the first.

The maufacturer's name is on the tip of my tounge but escapes me. They're one of the main manufacturers of wormers.
