The CO has said the ferrets are a Health and Safety risk as they may attack someone, so they have gone around a friends house. Quote Link to post
shell 42
Marriage and relationships... it's all about compromise isn't it... Malc (been together for nearly 11 yrs, married nearly 6 yrs) came home with a present for me one day. 2 PET leeches in a glass jar. LEECHES???!!! WTF?! Found them while digging a ditch... He's obsessed with the countryside and thought I might appreciate them. Fine. Ok. You've brought me 2 pet leaches... then he tries to place the glass jar on the mantle piece in the living room... 'they look nice there'. Hang on a minute... pet leeches.. mantle piece... living room. F*CK RIGHT OFF! Horrid things. I put up with his terriers, lurchers, ferrets, hounds, chickens, geese, ducks... and his smell... 3 years of tripe and hound sh*t... like I'm gonna have pet leeches on the mantle piece. He soon put them outside out of sight, as ordered. See, it's all about compromise. :realmad: This is one of Malcs favourite stories... When Malc was a kid of about 11 and getting dragged around various terrier shows in deepest darkest south yorkshire, his dad had a mate who's occupation was post office robber come terrierman. He told the tale... He was obsessed with his dogs, he'd come home from the pit one day and his Mrs had said 'its either me or the dogs'. He says 'Ya best f*ck off then'. Anyway, thinking she'd calmed down, he went to work next day, when he gets home in the evening there are no terriers on the yard. Rather than going mental, realising it's probably slightly futile, he goes round to his mates house, discussing the merits of terriers and women. His mate says to him 'see this terrier bitch here...' he picks it up by the scruff and throws it down the cellar steps... he shouts the terrier and it comes creeping up the cellar steps with its tail between its legs... he says 'tell you what, you can't do that to a woman'. Back to the topic... how many women would put up with this? Husband and daughter... Shell (and Malc) Quote Link to post

Guest foxyjo.
Sorry to hear your news Rabbiteer, it's hard, but probably for the best in the long run. I married a townie, it was a big mistake. He got incrediby jealous of the animals and threw the most magnificent wobbler you've ever seen cos I did the horses on Christmas Day. Apparently I should have just left the poor buggers standing in a stable untended to for the day because family, ie, him, should come first. Not so in my book. Animals are like kids, they come first everytime, no questions. His revenge was to sell one of them. I came home a few days later and he said he was selling Skerry, I had the choice of who it went to, I chose, 2 hours later the horse was gone. He once sulked for 3 weeks cos I went hunting. 3 BLOODY WEEKS WITHOUT SPEAKING A WORD!!! Incredible..... I tried my best, I was only 21 and he was a bit older, (39)made me think there was something wrong with me. Turned my horse away, didn't hunt, no shows, no dog work, no dog shows, no nothing. Utterly pointless, he only found something else to whine about. You're lucky if you can get town and country to mix, I don't think I'd ever bother to try that again. There are plenty of girls out there who will understand you and share your interests. And with regard to the lady with her ciggy and her phone and the fat pups in front of the fire...when you've had a bad 'un, then nothing is quite as true as the saying "Beauty is as beauty does".
