JackReid 35
Went shooting with one of my mates at the permission last night. Have been getting quite a few recently and made some pretty mega shots! We have been going up too early I think as we hadnt adjusted our winter time hunting times (5-9ish) to 7-10ish so we have been sseeing quite a few about. Started off just nailing a smallish one near the car, headshot... Went quite some time before nailing myself my longest shot so far..roughly 51 yards! It was standing as there wasnt a clear line of sight to lie down. Rabbit took the shot in the upper neck but went down...centre meter higher and it would have been perfect. So I was oerjoyed with that one, set up along some unexplored territory with my mate, looked up after putting my head in my arm to rest for a minute and there was a huge one standing there, raised the gun slowely and shot him through the head and to my disbalief he bolted one jump forward, so I ran to collect the body and he was gone, I searched and searched but despite taking a textbook headshot had made the metre or two jump and just rolled down the whole. He couldnt have survived so I didnt feel too bad as it was a clear dispatch just his last breath managed to get him into the warren! So I set off accross one of the fields keeping my eye on where the bull was (he doesnt like us lol), it was getting dark and as i approached a feeding trough I thought I could see something so ilooked down my scope and it was a rabbit, I was totally exposed in the field but there were sleeping cows dooted about and the rabbit must have written me off as a cow, so I moved in to about 30 yrds and took the shot standing ( i find standing easier than kneeling and not clear enough to go prone) Thought I had burgere dit up but no...he did a flip and lay completley still, stone dead straight away. Had a brief mission around when itwas almost dark and was seeing them everywhere, Am considering getting a lamping setup...just building a hide in the corner of one of the fields thats just had the grass cut and get a powerful torch...my mate has a good police torch that may well do the job...Will have to see...Here's a couple of pics including a double 3...2...1..thwack shot on a dove. Went down hard at about 40 yrds! Jack Quote Link to post

You dotn know what the differences between Weihrauch 95 and 95k are do you? I asssumed The 'K' came with silencer and no old school sights? Not sure couldnt find anything online. Good rifle though. My first full on .22. Anyway...just wasting abit of time before I head out again! Get there about 8.30 and its a hour and a half of awesome sport! Will be taking the camera and will be alone this time so productivity will be much better! 'Break Barrell' Jack Hahah! Quote Link to post

'Break Barrell' Jack Hahah! k = carbine Cheers mate, Does this mean my gun is technically less accurate than the HW95? The non carbine must be very long with a silencer because my gun is prettly long as it is. I dont shoot with the silencer very often as its quite loud and unnecessary? Quote Link to post
SEAN3513 7
Does this mean my gun is technically less accurate than the HW95? no....the carbine (shorter barrel) is more accurate..........suprised about the silencer they are normally very good. cheers sean Quote Link to post
JackReid 35
Beg your pardon mate I mistyped, was meant to say I dont shoot 'without'. Your right the silencer is nice. Have been shooting 4 days on the trot doing some good shooting then headed out tonight and didnt get a thing! Weird how it goes! Excuse my ignorance but howcome the carbine would be more accurate, I always assumed that longer barrell usually meant better accuracy? Jack Quote Link to post
