smudgersmith 2
Took my 8 week Border for her jabs last night, the last time I went the course was £35, this time it was £57 fecking rip-off. Made the stupid mistake and did not ask until she had the jab, felt my knees go. I asked the vet ( who happens to be FRENCH ) what age can I have my dog jabbed against leptospirosis, she informed me that this practice did not do this, and why would I want the dog injected for such a thing. I informed the surrender monkey that we had a livery yard which by chance had rats.!! I am currently searching for a new vets. !!! What is the best age to have my pup done, within the next 4-5 weeks she will be visting the yard. Cheers PS : If I have offended any of our French friends............ TOUGH Quote Link to post

Bryan 1,362
if i could get em for that what are the vets paying i avoid vets as much as i can and do my own jabs, but when i do mine i just have to pay for the jabs, not for a nurse to assist, someone to sit on the front dask and take calls or for building lease stock etc. vets are not rich people thats for sure. border pups seem to be a bigger rip off than vets Quote Link to post

Terrier man 38
It is a rip off pal over here to...I used be able to buy the 4bottles for 20 euro went to the chemist last month for a lot of jabs was told its only vets can give the jab now so i knew then and there it would be pricey so rang round a few vets 75 euro so i laughed and went to me own vet got the 4 for 30 euro wasnt so bad ....But ye all know what this will result in people not bothering to pay for jabs and parvo will be flying about which means alot of dead pups and dogs.... DogPaddle 0
The vets over here are also moving that direction. It is getting more and more difficult to purchase the innoculations ourselves. Soon, the same thing will be happening and diseases will be rampant. A few of the guys over here got together and started a little co-op and ordered their shots together, just an idea??? It is much cheaper if it can be done. Quote Link to post

There are Border pups on here for £400 in my opinion thats steep. Edited June 25, 2008 by Bryan Quote Link to post

However, re-vaccinating pups at 10mths is NOT good, there are loads of auto immune problems in dogs cause by over vaccinating so Id say avoid it at all costs. I know where you are coming from, I manage a kennels and we HAVE to have proof of vaccination, if checked on we could lose our lisence if we didnt have proof all the dogs and Cats were vaccinated and up to date. Did you keep the stickers from the vaccines? When are they due in kennels? Quote Link to post
kreet 0
the vet i use only take's £17 each jab whitch is steep i didnt realise thats what he charged the girl i used to get em for £10 a jab fully documented from a greyhound vet prices are unreal nowadays. Quote Link to post
