Rhodey 96
And apparently if you smell flowers the spirit is female and the smell of cigar smoke its a male ghost. A friend has a sort of 6th sense for it she can't see speak to or contact ghosts she can sense there presence, and an old pub we owned she refused to enter the ladies toilets in the restrurant as she said there was a spirit in there, also if you open the same door the dog would growl and bark at nothing. Although we never heard or saw anything.
Guest WILF
I have encountered the bad as well Ditch, many years ago I renovated a house where the Father had gone mad with a hammer and killed his whole family..........it had laid derelict for a few years and it was very sobering to be stripping the wall paper with the old blood stains on it. Funny enough, it was not the same feeling...........no echos in that house, just the knowlege that something very sad had happened. I visited the old Manston Airfield Christmas time and in a couple of the old buildings, I could allmost see the lads from the 40,s..........my wife picked up on it as well and she is not they way inclined at all. Strangley enough, it was not worrying, but a mixture of comfort and respect.
byron 1,169
Glad ye've only encountered the good, Wilf. Your statement reminded me of something; I used to do a lot of Building Maintanence work, back in the eighties. Thatchers reign of terror was in full swing, of course, and I got to work in more than enough Reposessed homes. You ever been inside a 'fresh' repo, mate? It's horrible. Ye can 'Hear' the crying and the kiddies screaming. The Misery and stress runs down the walls like water 'Strangely' enough; I've been into Evictions too. Kiddie sized bowls of corn flakes still on the kitchen table, from when the door came through. Thickly crusted with green and silver mould. But the vibe was never the same in those. They didn't care, see? Just flipped one at the authorities till they came and slung them out. Then they were most likely straight over the county border to demand housing from the next lot in line. Way of life for some people. well ds i spent a good few years in the repo game.[private section] and repoed hundreds of houses [sometimes three a day] and i can honestly say i have had maybe 2/3 were i felt a presence, and couldn,t get away quick enough. as for the kiddies crying/screaming, well not heard of that one. but who knows!! kristian 9
A few years ago my niece was in bed and we were all down stairs and could here her talking upstairs so my mother went up to check on her! she was only tiny in a cot and when my mum asked who she was talking to she said a name that used to be the old lady that died years before who lived next door! then a couple of months later my sis was in bed and woke to see someone leaning in the cot trying to pick the baby up! my sister thinking nothing of it as she lived with my mum at the time, then when she turned to look again there was no one there she then got out of bed to see who was just going to take the baby and everyone was still sleeping. I've never seen anything paranormal but believe theres something else out there.
jultaylor1972 2
I work in a really old hospital and have heard so many tales about sightings etc, Ive always dismissed them to be honest ~ thats was until I saw something myself! It was only a few weeks ago and I nearly crapped myself! I'm still putting it down to tiredness (Trying to be sensible) as it was 6am and Id been on night duty but I saw a man walk through one of the bedrooms, literally through the bloody walls! It couldnt have been one of the patients as there was no one in that room and the door was locked, the other staff were both where I could see them Perhaps there is something afterall? I'd just rather they would be where I wasn't in future!

stevesel 18
Whilst reading this thread i remembered the only time i thought id seen a ghost, as a teenage arsehole i stole a cortina (classy i know) went round to pick up a few lads for a drive. We drove round some old country lanes and ran right over/through an old women with her hand out as if to stop us,this was about three in the morning right in the middle of nowhere. We stopped and searched the ditch and hedges and could find no sign, there was not a mark on the car so after a real good look we decided to leave,at first light i cycled back convinced id murdered an old dear but there was nothing. Four of us saw it so it wasnt imagined. It wasnt far from an old abbey ruin thats reputedly haunted but i dont know anybody thats really seen a ghost there. I wonder if was a ghost, certainly cured me of car theft. Where i live now i have to drive past the spot almost daily and i always find myself braking without realising it. There my confession to once being a chav.33 years ago

Rabbithunter 456
from personal experience............. when my grandad died, i heard some freaky shit, and we even had a mouse pad go missing from computer desk....grandad was bang into computer's and liked a practical joke or two. My old man wasn't well for week's..... and when the news was broke to me, i simply said to my mother "i know"....... i firmly believe he will make a good recovery from the dreadful thing, and i can make him proud one more time, perhaps make him into a grandad! lets hope my instinct's are correct this time round Edited June 26, 2008 by Rabbithunter
