kreet 0
all the ones i have seen used were around 1m of the floor and depends on the weather mate and how weel the kennel is insulated some people will not bother with a lamp if there kennel is insulated and in summer . whats the litter due from ? id say once there eye's were open i would take the lamp away but as i say depends time of year if you dont use a lamp the dogs will be more hardy where as if you have em under a lamp once you take it away they will be abit soft and feel any slight change in the weather but as i say its all to do with the climate and at the moment one day is roasting the next its bitter so all the factor's will vary . sorry not much help but depending on breed and kennel type would depend on the need in my opinion. Cheers in advance!!! Some one on here recommended the Book of the Bitch I believe and it recommends temperature at which pups need to be kept, I kept a thermometer with the pups and adjusted the temperature either by moving the lamp up and down with the chain or by a variable voltage type plug which I brought from were I got the lamp it allows you to adjust the voltage which adjusts the heat out put. Ok so why not just move the lamp up and down on the chain, as you move it up and down the area size changes so and uoy get either a large colder area or a hot spot, both ways worked for me, and all the pups survived, hope this helps. Ps got the lamp from a chicken suppliers and the adjustable voltage plug. twins
