You'd be better off worshipping the devil and lying to God about it, the penalties in that situation would be more bearable.

I would imagine they would give you, and your employer a whopping great fine, audit you both and bring both of you to court if they could  To be honest, with all the ducking and diving that does go on in life these aren't people you want to be messing with.

Top reply that JG, I couldn't have put it better myself.

I have had dealings with the tax man years ago, being self employed on a 715 cert, I managed to get it sorted in the end, but the tax man is one not to mess with, they do have the power to seize any of your goods, house, car and any thing they can get money for. The courts dont like tax fiddlers/dodgers as thats where their wages come from.

what would happen if you were caught fiddling some ond elses books

would it be a prison sentance

or fine or both

if the owner of the books thought feck this i aint going down they could pass all the blame on you and act dumb, not only would you be up for fraud you'd be doing a stretch for theft.

Nope, never worth it IMO. One very important thing to remember about the taxman is that you're always guilty until you prove 200% yourself innocent. I wouldn't for one second rely on a made up story, all they will be interested in is figures, not facts. If the figures don't add up you're f****d. If you don't have receipts from the year dot you're f****d.

Why do you think most people are scared shitless of the taxman :clapper: If you've something to lose, he'll take it.

and that is a good one to remember your guilty until you can prove your inocent, and reciepts mean nothing unless you can prove were the money has come from and for some that is hard

Good advice mate, they have more power than the police. I crossed swords with them once and it cost me a fortune in accountants fees and i was innocent. (honest :icon_redface: )
