Alternative To The HW100K

Recommended Posts

I am at the moment looking at air rifles and i have heard a lot of good things about the Weihrauch HW100.

When i go and have a look around i wondered what alternatives at this price range may be worth looking at?

Best regards

Shepp

honest opinion ................................ theres nothing out there at the moment to touch the hw100 ( in my opinion)...........looks the buisness and legedary build quality.

gillys suggestions are worth looking at.....but for me HW100 !!!!!!!

CONEY has one and he will give you a very honest evaluation.........and he has field experience with one.

also chris jones highly rates them aswell..........i'm sure they will both furnish you with their opinions very soon.

all the best

Hi,

I am not suggesting you would be powering the gun up either but.....

I believe the new HW100 (the Mk3 I think) is designed to be tamper proof and you could end up with a knackered gun if you were to follow the video which was carried out on an earlier model I think!?

On a different note, I recently bought the HW100K in .22 and found it to be excellent so far. Really nicely balanced and supremely accurate. I had a look at the S410 as well but I guess the build quality and the fact that the HW100 just felt 'right' for me clinched the deal in the end.

All the best in your search!

I`m sure you can`t tune the HW100 not that you`d want to. Looked at the HW100 a very fine piece of equipment indeed but opted for the S410 instead lighter and just felt right. When i was first looking for a gun these were the two that stood out and which ever gun you go for i`m sure you will have fun.

sorry shepp....a public forum is not the place for advertising where information is available for the tuning of air rifles, i'm sure you wouldn't, but, there are plenty of numptys out there that will !!!!!!

Not just saying this because I own one but for the money the HW100 is a safe bet I have had many a rifle both cheaper and more expensive but for the sheer ease of use and the performance it's a tough one to beat. Have had many a rabbit with mine in the last x3 months as some of the lads can vouch for and not one bit of bother with it. Reliable, accurate, easy to use and a pleasure to shoot...German engineering at it's best and another winner from the Weihrauch stable. If these were not available it would be the AA S410 in carbine/walnut stock....but they are have a look!!

To be honest, I don't think I'd want to tune an HW100. They're as close to airgun perfection as 21st century technology will allow. If I wanted an FAC air rifle I want a bigger calibre than .22. As Sean said, yes I rate the HW100 very, very highly. My opinion is that it's the best rifle currently available.

Now to official business. I've edited some of the previous posts, regarding tuning info. I accept that there are web sites with very detailed instructions but I'd appreciate it if they're not mentioned here. I'd also appreciate it if they're not linked to, as doing so could see your post pre-screened in the future.
