fox cubs

Recommended Posts

:hunter: i'm one of your so called riflemen, we are out throughout the year (we can't wait for frost and snow),the only reason we don't shoot foxs this time of year is that we can't see them cause the crops are to tall.

In my opinion the only good fox is a DEAD fox. :gunsmilie:

So on your expertly Summer shoots when you shoot a vixen in milk you go looking for the cubs then, yes?

Also when your sitting in the comfort of a vehicle calling in a stupid cub do you pat yourself on the back because your an expert?

I bet you've all the warreners videos to watch when the weather gets cold.

Are you out all year shooting pregnant vixens and vixens which have recently given birth to cubs? Unless you are controlling rogue foxes then I can't get my head around it, I also can't understand the only good fox is a dead fox line either.............................................maybe its me................

Thats were your going wrong ooty, you should use a shovel instead of a lurcher to dig. :D

I don't think this should turn into a gun vs dog debate, many people use both and I could be wrong but isn't a gun a legal requirement to dispatch the fox once dug to stay within the legal guidelines????

Its all to do with the attitude to control and not the method.........

why is it some people are just too stupid or ignorant to read? when the snow and frost comes i'm the last person you'll find sitting indoors. we only use a vehicle to get to our shoot. i think shooting from a vehicle is more dangerous than sleeping on the M25. I find you get fuckwits who have to say things when they don't know what they are talking about.

timjim,

Of course they kill for food, you obviously have no understanding of the fox. They will kill everything they can (obviously) as they are wild animals and never know when their next meal is going to be. They don't have it as easy as you, they can't just go to the nearest super market and get some food!!!

The fact that you are a human being (I presume you are) means you should respect all quarry, we are the dominant species on this planet and wether you like it or not that comes with the responsibility, if you can't see that, well my words are just wasted on you.

Why people can't just tie-up a dog or two out side the chicken enclosure at night is beyond me, obviously preventing the dog from getting the birds aswell. Mankind can go to the moon, but it always boggles me how people cant figure out how to prevent their poultry from being eaten by foxes. So people go out and kill a fox, which doesn't prevent the problem, because even if you do get the right individual, another one will take its place. PREVENT the fox from accessing your birds in the first place and life will be so much easier!

Man you live in a dream world , I worked as a professional terrier man for 25yrs and was always busy spring and summer dealing with problem foxes , not a job I enjoyed digging on a hot summers day for fox cubs that can move about small rabbit tubes that even a very small dog cant , hard work but a vixen feeding cubs will often take livestok duing the day and if you kill her you have to deal with the cubs ,cant let them starve to death also deal with the dog fox . I no longer work teriers because my back and knees are knackered ( worked them for 40yrs ) I use a rifle now but miss working the terrers . I also farm sheep and when you get a fox killing lambs I will not stop until he is dead, so go back to your fairy tail land and leave the countryside to folk who understand it.
