lurchergrrl 1,441
Well I set off today with high hopes of finding a little something for the mutts to chase. Sadly, too much cover and I don't know where the critters are. So whilst I was a-wandering about a mate of mine and his son went driving past me. Turns out they help manage a farm local to me, and they said go ahead .... have a walk round anytime. That's where the bunnies are, up there is where the Really Big Bunnies are And yes we'll get the ferrets out for some bolters .... give us your number, see you soon So with that I changed my plan and headed in a more familiar direction. First we came across this lovely pair. Stella was very confused by them, she gave out a bit of a winge and unsure woof - which was immediately corrected by me - and then settled down enough to say hello. We skirted that field and went into the woods for a good while. I do love a mooch in the woods. We've seen deer in here but they weren't home today. Devil Dog Then the rain came smashing down, so I sat under a tree to stay dryish while the mutts had what has to be the maddest chase I've ever seen through the rotodendrons  It was heartstopping and they nearly bowled me right off my perch at one point. I couldn't get pics of them as the rain was dripping off the brim of my silly cammo hat. But here they are in the aftermath. I came home soaked through but glad to have had them out for a good walk. And very much looking forward to getting out with my mate and his son soon. Finally, someone local to me who's got the time and the interest to show me around!

cúagusgiorraí 57
Hi LG Looks like a nice day out nevertheless. Nothing better than just being out with the dogs. I noticed that you have the id tags on the dogs collars. I made that mistake when I first went hunting as well. That jingling sound from the tags will scare critters away before you are even close to see them. I find what is better is get a good strong collar and mark you contact numer on it with a permanent black marker. Leave the tags at home.
lurchergrrl 1,441
Yes Sam you're right. I actually meant to tape the tags up before I left ... and forgot. Not that it mattered today after all .... I wasn't too keen on wading through waist high grass, and I really didn't fancy having an accident with a deer either
